This innovative program has been developed by the exercise professionals of Concorde Health & Wellness. From the ground up, this
program is for kids, with an emphasis on education, safety, and most of all, FUN!
We've got a fully-equipped fitness center with kid's-size
equipment -- the first of its kind in this region. Hydraulic resistance enhances the safety of this approach, and our focus is on
technique, not pounds. We've also incorporated group exercise to enhance the social aspect as well as the physical, with such activities
as kid's aerobics, tumbling, ball exercise and fitness games. Our fitness staff has experience in working with all levels of competitive
athletes, so programs to enhance sports performance are a snap.
For kids at the end of their therapy programs, KidsFit offers a mechanism
to build on the positive changes experienced with therapy. This is a great solution for children who need a structured plan for continuing
with strengthening and functional activities.
Our staff is actively involved in supporting the therapists in their clinical management,
and the transition to a fitness program is directed by our therapists and takes place in a familiar setting, so it's transparent
to our kids.
Many parents' greatest fears with respect to exercise and sports participation surround concerns about whether specific
exercises or activities are safe for their children's developmental level. Our programs are developed around the standards supported
by the American College of Sports Medicine and other professional organizations. The most important aspect of our supplemental training
is the opportunity to prepare our athletes for the specific stresses of their sport. We know that injuries happen more often to the
tired athlete, and we simply strive to train athletes to a level which prepares them adequately to avoid these injury stresses.
Our
classes are held several times a week, and you can enroll your child for convenient 8-week sessions, so there's no hassling with annual
memberships.
KidsFit Challenge is a special program for kids with special needs. It serves as a vehicle for peer interaction which may not be available
in age-group sports programs, allowing kids to be placed with friends of equal abilities for fun social interaction surrounding physical
activity.
Our program takes advantage of the facilities and "kid-size" equipment at Concorde Kids, and incorporates low instructor
to participant ratios. It is the ideal program for transition following therapy.
